It was my friend Jon's 21st birthday so he decided we should all go to Blackpool for a night to do something different. I was a little hesitant at first seeing as it was me and 7 guys but they're all awesome and I had an AMAZING time!! We stayed at the cutest little B&B which only cost us 25 pounds for the night including breakfast in the morning (big breakfast too!!) and passes for free drinks and admission into a few different clubs in Blackpool.

We left Manc at supper time on Friday night and got there about 6ish which gave us time for some champagne in the boys' room and then to go downstairs for a free beer in the bar. And then it began! We started out at an Australian bar called Walkabout which had some really good girly drinks that even the boys enjoyed :D ... Next we went to a place called Flares which was a 70's themed club which was decorated in everything 70's including some fake mustaches on the bartenders LOL!!! They played all 70's music and had TV screens all around with the music videos playing. After Flares we went to the club where we stayed for the rest of the night ... too bad I can't remember the same (I'll try to find it)!!

Lot's of drinking insued and as you can imagine there was a little craziness too. A few highlights - even old people go out to clubs in Blackpool apparently, the ladies washroom as a hair straightener and curling iron in it, more champagne, and I punched some guy ... so as you might imagine it was alot of fun!! Here are some pics :D

The boys before going to the clubs ... Nice to know people have noticed o.O Well that's not entirely true ... some people didn't know I was gone and some people thought I was still in Denmark. Surprise!! Haha!!

I haven't really told people alot about Manchester and what it's like to live here. Technically I don't live right in Manc, I live on the outskirts of Greater Manchester in a place called Salford. I'm not far away from the city center at all though ... it takes Rich and I about 15 min to walk into town which we tend to do almost every night just for something to do and to get some air. Taking the train is also an easy way to get around because there's a station a 2 min walk from where we live and it doesn't cost very much at all. I like the train because it's kind of a novelty for me still haha!!

I keep meaning to take pictures of the city but I always forget my camera so tonight I have put it on it's charger and I'll put it in my purse and take it shopping with me tomorrow :) For now I'll leave you with a few pics I had from the first time I came to Manchester. I promise I'll get the new ones posted for you soon and I'll explain what's in them!!

The Printworks ... there are a bunch of cool bars and restaurants in there.
The Manchester Eye ... was supposed to be up for a limited time but the people wanted it to stay so it did.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :D

I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and you are all in the process of having a Happy New Year :)

I spent Christmas this year in the Crisp family household and it was a ... loud one haha!! I had a great time with Rich's family and I got lots of nice gifts ... all of which I was very surprised about recieving!! I got 2 hoodies, Burberry perfume, makeup, a Scooby dvd and a t-shirt that says "What would Scooby Doo?". Oh yes ... and LOTS of chocolate!! I was very sad about not being able to be with my family for the holidays but Rich kept me occupied and made sure that I didn't get too homesick.

Today, Rich and I travelled from his family's house in Swanage (on the southern coast of England) back to Manchester and it's very nice to be back. I look forward to not being woken up but an 8 year old yelling and running around haha!! But I think that I will miss playing board games and having fun with Rachael, Rich's little sister. Our train arrived back in Manchester at almost 11:30 so we decided to sit this New Year's Eve out and have a quiet night in. It was a very nice sursprise to see the fireworks right from our window so we didn't miss out on too much :)

An update on the job situation ... I have been offered a job at a retail store called West One in the big shopping center here (The Arndale). Here's the problem. I need a National Insurance Number (same as our SIN) in order to work here ... to get the NIN I have to have been offered a job (and I have) ... BUT I had to make an appointment for an interview (which I also did) but the interview isn't until Jan. 29 because that was the soonest they could get me in. Boo!!!! I think I may try to get a waitressing job and see if I can work under the table until I get my NIN. I'll probably make more money in tips than I would working retail anyway!!

Anyway, it's 3am here and I'm off to bed :) Happy New Year all!!

Guess who's back :D

Thought you'd never hear from me again?? I really missed writing Adventures of a Canuck (which has now been retired) so I thought I might revive this one. Not actually expecting anyone to read ... just my vent I guess. I don't really have many people to talk to so cyber space is good enough for me.

Little update on my life. Currently living in Manchester, England with my boyfriend Rich ... trying to find work but it's not really working out like I planned. Not very many things in my life are working out like I planned haha! I'm trying to keep my head up and roll with it as much as I can for the time being. We'll see where things take me. I don't think I've had it all that bad in my life as of yet so I really shouldn't complain. Guess it's just my turn for a little bad luck. Yay!

I probably won't be updating this blog as much as I normally do. This is because I have another blog specificly about my trip here. Please visit
Adventures of a Canuck to find out all the stuff that's going on with me. Did you notice? LOL I had a bunch or girls over last night and it solidified my feelings for my wonderful friends and it made me ok with the others, who may not be as close to me as they once were. Even if we're never as close as we were, and even if we aren't friends anymore, we still had fun together at one point in our lives and that'll always stay the same.

Only 10 more days until I leave. My nerves are getting the best of me. I'm terrified!! I've gotten a few pointers from other people who are away from home and that helps. Shaun told me to listen to "Can't touch this" by MC Hammer ... I think that will work wonders to cure my homesickness!

Anyway, I think I'll go watch a Christmas movie with Joshua while I still am able to cuddle with him!

PS - Thanks Abby and Paula for reading!

:(

I didn't win tickets to go see 50 Cent last night so I didn't get to go. Instead I got to babysit 2 wild kids ... lucky me. I cried myself to sleep. Nobody else really seemd to care. Anyway, today was only a relatively decent day. It was wonderful to sleep in and play on the computer for a bit. I had Chinese with Josh for supper and we went to the mall so he could get some of his Christmas shopping done. We saw lots of people we knew there who we hadn't seen in a while which was very nice. That's what I like about Christmas time. But do you know what I realized today that depresses me? I only have 4 friends. Well, 4 REAL friends that I actually call and see on a regular basis. Josh, Abby, Paula and Angela. Yup, that's it. Lovely. Josh always tells me not to worry about it. It's kind of hard not to though. I love it when people who say they're my friends don't invite me out ... yet when I invite them to my house so that I can see them before I go away for 6 months they're like "Of course I want to see you!" Blah, blah, blah! Perhaps Denmark will be a learning experience. I'll learn not to care about these people so much.

It does make me very happy that I do have those 4 wonderful people in my life though. Without them I'd be a much different person and I'm going to miss them like crazy when I'm gone. And I'm sure they know how I feel about them. At least I hope they do :) Well, they will after they read this ... I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! And only you guys ... no one else LOL!

Anyway, I'm at Josh's right now so he would probably like my attention. He doesn't read this so I'll have to tell him that I love him haha!

Examinate Me!

Exams are quickly approaching and it leaves me wondering, where has the time gone? I had honestly planned on beginning to read over my notes and chapters last week ... although anyone who knows me to any degree knows this would never have actually happened. I often wonder why it is that I have such a difficult time studying. That is something they really didn't (I don't even know if they can) teach in school. Why is it that some people can sit down and pour over their books for hours where as I start reading and in less than 5 minutes I'm distracted by the stupidest things? I've tried studying in different rooms in the house ... trying to choose which room would prove least distracting. I've even asked the fam to stay away from me and tell all callers that I'm busy. I've locked the cats out of the room (large distraction) and I've turned the TV off. For me I guess it's just difficult to pay attention to something I don't find amusing.

I have no problems reading for enjoyment. I actually like it alot. I wish I could read for pleasure more often ... finding the time is difficult. When I was working at Oak Point this summer, I was able to get more reading done than I had in a long time. There were days at the beginning and end of the camping season when there would be only one or two campers ... even instances when there was no one. After all the work was done, I was able to settle into a good book. That was another reason my job was so great! Looking forward to it next summer as well.

Anyway, back to the topic of exams. Why exactly do they do it? I am sure that for alot of people, the exam is not an effective way of evaluating and judging what the person has learned from the course. I know for me, multiple choice really doesn't justify how I understand the concepts I have learned. I'm more of a words person so I do well on the written parts of tests. I can bullshit my way through an essay like nobody's business! I know that for my History of Psychology class, the prof decided on mostly multiple choice because of the enormous class size. This is why I really wish it were possible to have smaller class sizes but still cater to the same number of students. Hire more profs maybe? I'm sure there's more to it than that. Well, I guess I had better get back to the studying. For some reason my blog popped into my head while reading about Health Promotion for my Health Psychology class!

As a side note, I was surprised on the lack of comments on my last post. Then again, maybe I shouldn't be because to be honest, no one reads this!!

Advent!

Woohoo! I've been waiting to start eating my little advent chocolates for like ... a month! I think it's kind of a sin that kids these days (makes me feel old to say that) think only of Advent as the the month before Christmas when you get to eat chocolate everyday until you get a shitload of presents. Never mind with the whole "waiting for Jesus" deal. Is it the personal beliefs of parents or is it that people want to be politically correct or something? Like the whole "Holiday Tree" deal. It's a friggin Christmas Tree people, get over it! Just because you don't celebrate Christmas doesn't mean that it will kill you to hear the word or say it. I'm catholic but I have no problem saying Kwanza of Haunnuka (spelling?) Actually, I'd be interested in learning more about it ... not trying to block it out because it doesn't happen to be part of my practicing religion.

I really don't understand the big deal with religion either. I was brought up Catholic but how do we really know what religion is right. We'd like to think our own is the correct one and that everyone else is missing out on going to heaven or whatever it is you believe. To me, religioud beliefs are kind of subjective. It's whatever works for you. For example, in Catholicism, you are supposed to go to a priest and confess your sins and he (the vehicle for God) will absolve them. I personally have given up on confession long ago. I think that God already knows I've sinned and whether or not I am truly sorry for it. Cut out the middle man. And since priest's are certainly not perfect and are human, I always had the nagging feeling that he could have been judging me. Not with the last priest at our church, a loved him because he was so open and accepting but with our current priest, I can't help but get the feeling that he feels as though he is somewhat better. Clearly, given the track record of our Catholic priests, they are not perfect. I say let them marry and maybe, just maybe there would not have been so much sex with the alter boys. Just my opinion thoug ... I could be completely off the mark.

Just a little update about my snail mail issue ... I finally did end up getting the package from Aarhus. The bad news is that it only deepend my worries concerning the trip. It said that there is no way of changing where they have placed you to live. Everyone is telling me not to worry about it though. The girl who went last year said that she was able to change when she got there so that puts my mind at ease a little bit. Oh well ... and the preparations continue.

Snail Mail

I listed the earrings on eBay and here are the pics. A little fuzzy ... apparently I should've had my camera on the "macro" setting. Guess I'm gonna have to dig out the manual for that one!

I was supposed to get a package from Aarhus last week but it hasn't come yet and I'm getting worried! I hear that I'm not the only person who hasn't gotten mine yet so at least I'm not alone. I noticed that they've assigned me a place to live though. I'll be living in Skjoldhøj Kollegiet ... no idea how to pronounce it but I hope it's nice. I requested a private bathroom and I noticed that is not something this place offers so I'm a little peeved but whatever.

Harry Potter was AWESOME!! They did leave some things out from the book but if they put everything from the book in the movie it would be crazy long. I really liked it! Voldemort wasn't quite what I had pictured in my head ... then again I really wasn't sure how to picture him. I didn't think he would look so ... smooth. I though he'd be more scabby or something, I don't know.

Movie night :)

Josh and I are going to see the new Harry Potter movie tonight. I'm really excited because I'm hearing lots of good things about it! I LOVED the other movies so I should love this one too. I really hope that they continue to make the rest of the books into movies. People have been saying that they may not because the actors are getting too old. (How do "people" know this anyway?) I think that the aging of the actors is good because it coincides with the aging of the characters. I think that it makes it more realistic. That's just my opinion anyway.

I made a couple of pairs of earrings today to sell on eBay because I am broke and running out of ways to make money (without having to get a job that I would only have for a month until I leave). I'll post pictures of them later tonight when I get home because I have to buy batteries for my digital camera.

I should run and start getting ready for the movie ... Josh always gets pissed when I take a long time :)

Yet another essay ... BOOO!!

I have ANOTHER essay due on Thursday. This time on Gestalt Therapy. All the books at UNBSJ on Gestalt Therapy are already taken out (of course) and it's too late to get any from Frederiction so I guess it's online journals for me. Lovely. I totally should've started it over the weekend but I wouldn't be me if I'd have started something early. Maybe I write better under pressure. I only got a C+ on my english paper on Emma. I get 2 weeks to re-write it and bring up the mark so hopefully I'll be able to raise it to at least to a B. I guess we'll see.

I was very excited when I signed on today and saw that Abby left me a comment! Woohoo!! Thanks Abby!

Oh well, maybe I'll end my procrastinating right here and start on my Gestalt Therapy paper. Since I've already procrastinated enough. Or maybe I'll go to the Sims 2 site and see if there are any good downloads ... choices, choices.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kimberleyanne.blogspot.com/2005/11/yet-another-essay-booo.html' title='Yet another essay ... The mood struck me to post so here I am, sitting in a crappy cubicle in the University of New Brunswick library, typing away on a laptop that's a million times crappier than my own. I really have to get a case so I can bring mine here. I can't stand these ones!

Haven't had the time to start the other to blogs yet. Probably on the weekend after I'm done these 2 midterms today. Hopefully they will also bring more traffic to this blog as well and perhaps someone will actually read this. What does a person have to do to get people to read their thoughts?! Hmmm ... be interesting? Yeah I guess that's where I'm lacking ...

Here's something interesting, a few months ago my mom saw an add in the Mystery Guild (part of the Double Day book club) to send in pictures of your cat behaving badly. So she sent in a picture of our oldest cat Molly sitting on a chair staring at the corner as if she was being punished. We get this letter from the book club later on saying that Molly had been chosen as one of the winners of "Crime Cat of the Year"! It was hilarious! Anyway, Mom won a book and Molly got to be in the next magazine which came the other day. It's so funny!!

Must ... study ... ahhhh!

2 new blogs?

I'm thinking about doing 2 new blogs ... one for Neopets and one for The Sims 2. I spend alot of time on those two things so it makes sense to have my own personal webspace about them (maybe not?). I feel like this blog is a good place for me to vent. No one really cares about this blog because it's about my own unimportant existance and nothing even remotely interesting. At least I can give informative information AND have a spot for my daily rantings. Makes sense right?
Maybe not.

Josh and I are going to the movies tonight. I'm thinking about looking nice but I haven't decided yet. That might just be too much work for me ... brushing my hair and such. I suppose he might like it if I put on a skirt once in a while. Naw, too drafty for my liking. I think I'm going to make him buy the food (I got 2 free movie passes from RBC Rewards) because I am unemployed. Oh that's going to be a wonderful excuse from now until I go away ... or get another job. Anyway, I might as well go brush my hair or something. LOL

I quit!

So I quit my job today. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do for money for the next month but I guess I'll wing it. Maybe my neighbors will go out alot so I can babysit their kids or something. I feel much better now. Like a great big sigh of relief! I felt bad when I was telling her I had to leave and wasn't even giving her 2 weeks notice but I had to do it for me instead of worrying about other people for once in my life. At least I have lots of time for school work now. Oh joy! I guess the importan thing is that I do well so I can go on to get my Master's Degree.

On a completely different note, I feel like a complete loner tonight. I'm 20 years old, it's a Friday night and I'm at home. What is that? I was supposed to go see a movie with a friend who just had a breakup (and it's her bday) but I just called and turns out she's at his house. Oh well ... it's good for her that they're working things out. Since I was going to be busy, Josh went to go play Magic (rolling my eyes) at a friends house. Maybe I'm not as quite as big a loser as he is! LOL!

Maybe I'll see if Dad wants to go down to the rink and see if anyone's playing (we live down the road from a hockey rink). Or maybe I'll study for the 2 midterms I have next week. There's an idea. Isn't that the reason I quit my job in the first place?

A day of rest!

Yay! My paper is finished and I wrote my midterm this afternoon so tonight is all mine!! And I can tell you right now that I'll most likely spend it playing The Sims 2 or on Neopets. Both which are extremely fun I find them almost relaxing becasue I don't have to worry about a thing ... I just play. Too bad the rest of life wasn't like that eh?

So I went into work today to see if the schedule for next week is done and I got hell for not wanting to work yesterday because I had to study. I love having to explain to her that I am not going to school and paying insane amounts of money for higher education to work in the retail industry. Sometimes I really think that she expects me to work for her the rest of my life. If that's what she thinks, boy it's going to be one hell of a wake up call after I graduate. I've already decided that I'm not going to go back there after I get home from Denmark so that's kind of a relief. Speaking of Denmark ... if found this cute little counter thingy and went to the link from a fellow blogger's blog ...

So now you can count down the days with me!!

Happy Halloween!

Although I hate Halloween now, I still can't help but wish you all a good one. The reason that I hate it is because all those friggin kids get to walk around and look cute and get free candy for it and I look cute every day of my life and what do I get? Nothing!! I have to PAY for candy with all of the money that I don't have. (I'm going to stop that rant right there ... see previous post for elaboration.) I also hate that the doorbell has been rung about 5 million times tonight while I was trying to study for my Systems of Therapy midterm. I have to wait until it's quiet again before I do anything else productive.

Overall, I think I did really well studying today. I find that the class is kind of dry but the prof has lots of experience in therapy because well, she'd a therapist. I think my favorite form of therapy so far has been Gestalt Therapy. You've probably seen an exercise used in Gestalt Therapy called the Empty Chair. I'm not going to elaborate (but feel free to ask if you so wish) but I think it could be really effective. Am I a huge dork for finding this stuff interesting? At least I enjoy what I'm taking in school. I understand Psychology better than any of the other stuff I've ever taken so it just seemed to be the major that I fell into. Too my GPA wasn't higher to prove that I actually take an interest.

I've added a link in my signature on The Sims 2 discussion boards so hopefully that will draw more attention to my blog. I kind of feel like I'm talking to myself sometimes so maybe I'll get some feedback. Or maybe not but I guess we'll see now won't we? Maybe I'll have to start posting more on The Sims 2 site if I want people to see the link. I'm genious. Anyway, back to the books I guess.

Money Woes

I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who feels this way but I figured I'd write this anyway ... maybe just to make myself feel better or something. I have NO money! And when I say NO money I mean that I just got paid 2 days ago and I have about $20 left and I still have to pay on my Visa, line of credit and get a money order for my residence permit in Denmark. Now where the heck am I going to get all that? I've tried looking at all kinds of online surveys and who all claim that they will pay me for all of the surveys I take for them but I've been at it since at leasy June and I haven't seen a cent. I hear all these stories about people making money online but I highly doubt it's out there. Why can't I make money online?? Some sites actually look legitimate but then I find out that I have to live in the US to get paid. Well that counts me out!

Are there reallt places out there that will actually pay me for my opinion (or other service which I can do on the computer ... which does not include porn!) or it it an online urban myth? I'll have to get the MythBusters right on that. So if anyone actually reads this blog and cares to give me any real information concerning how I can make real money online ... I'd be very curious to know.

Jumping topics for a minute, I went to my aunt's house today (the one who got married) to see the wedding pictures. They turned out beautifully! She had the wonderful idea of putting disposable cameras on the tables at the reception for people to take pictures and there are some funny ones! There a a bunch of good ones of Josh and I pretending to cut the cake (after everyone was gone and there were still pictures left on some of the cameras) and of me pretending to throw the bouquet. She said that she had a good laugh when she had them developed.

Enough for tonight, I still haven't finished that damn essay yet.

Excuses, excuses ...

So I'm supposed to be writing an essay right now and this is an excuse for me not to write it. A 12 pager and I'm about half way done. I have no idea what else to say about Baruch Spinoza right now. My brain is mush! I suppose it doesn't help that I'm eating my lunch (Mr. Noodles ... Josh's mom says they're just empty calories) and trying to do this at the same time.

I was SO MAD yesterday at work. I mentioned in my last post that I was called to work a bunch of extra hours for yesterday. When I agreed my manager said "I owe you one!". Was I supposed to take that literaly? Because when I approached her and asked for my "one" yesterday she didn't seem to think that she owed me anything. If you say you owe someone something, doesn't that usually mean that you intend to do them a favor of some sort or is it just making conversation or something. The "one" that I asked for was to have Sunday off so I can do some school work. She told me (after making a very exasperated noise) that if I wanted Sunday off then I'd have to find someone to replace my shift. Under normal circumstances, that would be fine, except ... she owed me one! She's the friggin manager, she can get someone to work! And there are two people oncall tomorrow so why not ask them to work when they call?! How is me getting someone to work for me doing me a favor? It would be doing me a favor for her to replace my shift. Holy crap. So last night I did call one person (there was no answer ... she probably has caller id) and after that, I was busy so I didn't think about it again. Well when I was in the shower today, I remembered that I hadn't gotten anyone to work for me so I called work and the Assistant Manager (who I LOVE but sadly is leaving us soon ... not that I blame her) told me that she'd call around and for me. Now THAT is a favor. I'd quit in a fraction of a second if I didn't need the money so bad for my trip. Not that I don't enjoy the job. I love talking to people and I love the clothes and stuff but I'm certainly not intending on working in retail for the rest of my life!

There is news on my Denmark trip. We are going to be going to see the Canadian men's hockey team play in the Olympics in Turin, Italy!! I'm sooooo excited! I can't wait to get there and wave my Canadian flag and stuff! It'll be sooo much fun! Expensive but fun. All of the hotels (adn even hostles) in Turin are booked solid so we had to book a place in Milan, about an hour and a half away. But seeing Canada play in any Olympic event is well worth it!! I'm so excited because everything is coming in to place. All of the applications are almost finished and the days are going by so fast for when I leave! I really can't wait!!

Oh well, enough for today ... I can't think of anything else to write so I guess I'm going ot have to go back to writing the damn paper :(

Overwhelmingness!

Ahhhh! Everything is happening all at once! I am sooo stressed out about everything. I have an essay due tomorrow (can be handed in Monday with no deductions), a midterm next week and another essay due next week. And on top of all the school work I have to do, I also have to get all of my forms filled out for my trip to Denmark (residence forms, plane tickets, etc). Plus I have work calling me all the time trying to get me to work extra shifts. And being the pushover that I am I always say yes. For example, I was supposed to work from 6-9:30 tomorrow night. That was ok because I was planning on finishing my essay during the day and then dropping it off before I go to work. My manager called me about a half hour ago and asked me if I could work 12:30 until 9:30 instead because "we got 23 boxes of stock and you're the last person I have". This happened on Monday too so twice this week when I had planned on doing my essay I had to work. I have classes on Tuesday day so I worked on it that night. I have a night class Wednsday and I worked on it during the day. Today I had classes during the day and at night so I can't work on it at all today and I guess I'm going to have to finish it on the weekend when Josh wanted to hang out because we haven't seen each other in about 12 years! Well, that's a slight exaggeration but it feels like it's been that long!! Anyway, gotta run ... I want to make it to class on time!

Slacker Saturday

I don't have to work today and I thought I might have so in honour of my day of freedom I am going to do nothing. Well, nothing really productive anyway. I'm going to play on the computer all day and go to the movies tonight. I am very excited for this day to myself!

The wedding was really fun! I only cried twice! Must be some kind of record. I started to feel sick at the reception and Josh saved the day by going to Shoppers and getting me some Gravol and Pepto-Bismol. I can't even beging to say how much I really appreciated that he did that for me so that I could have a good time. I'm soo happy that he stuck with me as long as he has. In the 5 and a half years that we've been together, I think that this one has been the best. We used to fight alot more than we do now and I find we really get along well together more now than we ever have. I'll miss him alot while we're both away, me in Denmark and him in England. Hopefully we'll get to see each other a few times.

School has been going by crazy fast. I can't even believe that I've already had some midterms! And did horribly on them too. Oh well, better luck next time I guess. I haven't failed anything yet so that's always a good sign. Hopefully I can bring my GPA up just a little bit this semester.

Wedding Dress!!

Don't let the title fool you! I didn't get a wedding dress ... and I'm not getting married (yet) ... but I did get a dress to wear at my aunt's wedding. I'm very excited! I'm gonna look so friggin cute! I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to get it.

I'm still not feeling 100% but I had to get a dress so I had to go shopping. Yesterday, Josh and I started out for Moncton to go to the mall there but by the time we got to Hampton, I felt really sick. So Josh had to pull into the Irving in Hampton because I thought I was going to be sick. Poor Josh! I felt really bad for wasting his time. He was sooo good to me about it ... like he always is. I don't know how I'm going to do when I'm in Denmark and he's in England. It's gonna be rough but hopefully we'll be able to see each other a couple of times.

I know I'll miss my family alot too. My mom and dad will be going to Europe for 2 weeks in April and the closest they'll be coming to me is Germany so I'll be able to go and see them there. But I'll miss Kate alot because I won't be able to see her the entire time ... other than on the webcam. Hopefully I'll be able to call home alot and talk to everyone.

Anyways, I gotta get moving, the season premiere of Desperate Housewives is going to be on soon and I have to get some munchies.

Sick, sick, sick!

Stupid cold! I feel 10 times worse today than I felt yesterday and the day before. And I thought I might start feeling better today! No such luck. And I'm supposed to be going to a dinner tonight at Oak Point. It's a charter meeting for the Kiwanis and since I worked for them this summer, I was invited. The choices for dinner are chicken or steak but I really don't know if I could eat. Toast was even a challenge this morning. Boo! I was looking forward to this dinner too!

I haven't passed in my application for The University of Aarhus for my trip to Denmark yet. It's really just a formality. I've been accepted into the Study Abroad Program so the school automatically take you from that. Another girl that's going asked me if I wanted to go a few days early so we could go to Paris for New Year's Eve. That'll be amazing! I think I start school on January 4th there. And school is officially over on June 30th. But I may not have to be there until June 30th depending on when my exams are. I'm really excited and I know I'll have a great time.

Well, I think I should go and attempt to make some soup to make myself feel better. Then I've got to call and let them know I won't be attending the dinner tonight :(

Catching a COLD!

Boo!! My throat hurts, my nose is runny, I have a headache and I hurt all over. Guess what that means!? I'm getting a friggin cold! Never fails. I always catch the very first one that goes around so here it is. Josh's mom has a pretty bad one so maybe I got it from her. However I was sitting at a cold baseball field last night so that could be it too.

Speaking of this baseball field, I went to my little sister's softball game last night. She is so friggin cute! Well, she's 15 but she's still cute. She's Assistant Captain on her team this year! Yay Kate! I thought she played well last might even though she didn't think so. She's so much better than I ever was. She played 3rd for part of the game and short for the rest of the game. I didn't mind playing 3rd but I was sooo scared playing short! I had the biggest fear of the ball coming right back and hitting me in the face! But she got in front of everything that came at her! I was soooo proud of her! I'll have to go to more games this season!

Man, Shoppers Drug Mart by my university is moving to a bigger location down the street and today everything in the store was 50% off. I mean EVERYTHING!! I spent almost $50 on makeup, hair color, and a magazine. I got a ton of stuff!! Stores should have sales like that more often. God, I'm not going to have any money left and I don't have a paycheck coming in anymore.

On that note, I stopped in to my old job today and they asked me if I would come back. I'm pretty sure that I'll end up doing that because the manager is offering me more than I'd start off making anywhere else. Hopefully I'll be able to get enough hours to pay for at least part of tuition this year. Holy CRAP it's getting expensive! And now I have even more to pay for because I'll be going to school in Denmark starting in January. I'll be going for one full semester so about 5 months. I'm very excited but scared all at the same time. But I'll say more about that some other time cuz I really have to go get some readings done for school.

Until Next Summer

So today was the last day up at Oak Point. Angela and I drove around and took some pictures of the lighthouse, the picnic shelter that Josh painted, the Vagina tree ... all the big attractions. I'm happy that I'll have some time to myself but sad cuz it was fun and the pay checks will come to an end. And the job hunt begins.

Apparently, whoever the hell it was that was supposed to order my damn laptop went on vacation without letting Mom know. Nice. So she's back tomorrow so I'll know if it's already ordered or if it'll be another 2 weeks before it finally comes. Hopefully it's already been ordered cuz I'm going nuts without being able to play The Sims 2.

Speaking of which, the new expansion is out and I hear good things. I'll have to go and get it this week so I'll have it when my laptop finally gets here ... if it ever gets here. *crosses fingers*

Anyway, enough rambling, I highly doubt that anyone even reads these or gives 2 shits about what I have to say about my uneventful existance.

Crappy Computer

So apparently my computer sucks so I haven't had the chance to do anything other than check my email ... just the important stuff. The only reason that I am able to do anything other than that right now is because the computer is now operating in Safe Mode. Nice. I'm so glad that Mom is ordering my new laptop on Monday. I'm getting a router too so I can mouch off our high speed internet.

So summer's almost over and I've done nothing. Well ... almost nothing. Josh and I went to Bar Harbor, Maine for a few days and it was really nice to just get away with him and have some fun and relaxation! And it was all fun and no relaxation last weekend when Mom, Kate and I went shopping in Freeport and Kittery. Wow did I ever spend some money there. I'm kind of mad at myself for spending so much but whatever.

Anyway, nothing else to say ... except for I'm hungry but scared to go into the kitchen because Mom is "baking" for my aunt's Bridal Shower tomorrow and my grandmother is being a CRAZY mother-of-the-bride. Fun fun.

Here's a pic of Josh and I taken when we graduated in 2003!
